NAS Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism support group -
St Albans and Stevenage

The National Autistic Society has two social group meetings in St Albans. These groups meet on Mondays (term-time only) from 10.00am to 12.30pm and 1.00pm to 3.30pm. The group is based in St Albans and the meetings are open to all Hertfordshire residents.

Meetings for the Stevenage social groups are on Fridays from 10.30am to 1.00pm (term-time only) and again are open to all Hertfordshire residents.

There is an entry fee of £1 for these meetings

The support group is open to all adults (over 18) with Aspergers or high functioning autism. Members meet weekly in term-time and can take part in activities such as table tennis, badminton, table football and board games. During the morning they also have a structured time for discussions and have addressed topics such as employment, personal hygiene, depression and living with Aspergers.

The group aims to help develop individuals’ social skills and social networks and create a safe area where people are able to be themselves and discuss issues relevant to them in a structured and informal environment.
