What is Stepping IN?

Stepping IN is a new service which supports young people aged 14 to 19 with a disability to access leisure and recreational activities of their choice.

The service is available across Hertfordshire and is open to any young person who needs additional support to fully participate in their chosen activity. This could be because the young person would find doing something new difficult to cope with or distressing.

Working with Families

Any young person or family member can refer themselves to the Stepping IN service and on doing so will be visited at home to discuss their needs and the activity that they wish to join.

Stepping IN will help to support the family in making contact and arranging a visit to the group they have chosen. They will also match the young person with a support worker who will accompany them to each session that they attend at the group.

So what’s stopping you from Stepping IN?

This is a fantastic service which lends itself to being a complete wrap around support for the many teen groups available, which some of our children may struggle to attend for a number of different reasons.
